About Kibi

What is Kibi?

Kibi is a free iOS app that acts as a smart co-pilot for road trips. It finds the best single highway exit for gas, food, and a clean bathroom — so you don't have to make three separate stops. Kibi calculates pitstop intervals based on your vehicle's fuel range, scores 79,000+ US highway exits, and sends all your waypoints directly to Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze.

Is Kibi free?

Yes. Kibi is completely free to download and use. There are no ads, no subscriptions, and no paywalls in version 1.

Is Kibi available on Android?

Kibi is currently iOS only (iPhone, iOS 16.0+). Android support is being considered based on demand. Join the waitlist to stay updated.

How many highway exits does Kibi cover?

Kibi covers 79,000+ US highway exits across all 50 states, scored and ranked by amenity quality, ratings, and accessibility. Browse our route guides to see scored exits for popular road trips.

How Kibi Works

How does Kibi find the best highway exits?

Kibi scores every highway exit along your route using a combination of Google Places ratings, the number of nearby amenities, accessibility, and your personal preferences. It surfaces the single exit that has gas, food, and a bathroom together — not three separate stops miles apart.

What vehicles does Kibi support?

Kibi supports 49,000+ vehicles from the EPA fuel economy database — gas, diesel, hybrid, and electric — covering model years 1984 through 2026. Select your make, model, and year and Kibi auto-fills your fuel type and range. EVs and plug-in hybrids are automatically detected.

Does Kibi work for electric vehicles?

Yes. Kibi automatically detects EVs and plug-in hybrids from our EPA database. When you enable the EV Charging preference, Kibi replaces gas station searches with charging station searches — so every recommended stop includes a charger instead of a pump. Your range is calculated from EPA highway range data, and CO₂ is tracked at zero for pure EVs.

Does Kibi replace Google Maps or Apple Maps?

No. Kibi wraps around your existing navigation app. It plans the best pitstops for your trip, then hands off to Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze with all waypoints pre-loaded. You navigate with the app you already trust — Kibi just makes the stops smarter.

Kibi vs. Other Apps

How is Kibi different from Google Maps or Waze?

Google Maps and Waze are navigation apps — they route you from A to B but don't help you find the best place to stop. Kibi is a pitstop planner that figures out WHERE you should stop based on your vehicle's fuel range, then finds the single best exit that has gas, food, and a bathroom together. It then deep-links into Google Maps, Apple Maps, or Waze with all waypoints pre-loaded.

How is Kibi different from Apple Maps?

Apple Maps gives you turn-by-turn navigation but doesn't plan your pitstops. Kibi analyzes your vehicle's fuel range, scores every exit along your route, and finds the one stop where you can get gas, food, and a bathroom in a single exit. It then launches Apple Maps with all your waypoints pre-loaded.

How is Kibi different from iExit or NexIT?

iExit and NexIT show you what's at upcoming exits while you're already driving. Kibi goes further — it scores every exit along your entire route before you leave and picks the ONE best stop that has gas, food, and a bathroom together, timed to your vehicle's fuel range. Instead of scrolling through exits yourself, Kibi does the analysis and gives you a single recommendation. It also tracks CO2 emissions and deep-links directly into your preferred navigation app.

How is Kibi different from Roadtrippers?

Roadtrippers is great for discovering attractions and planning multi-day road trip itineraries. Kibi solves a different problem: it finds the single best highway exit where you can get gas, food, AND a bathroom in one stop — calculated around when your vehicle actually needs to refuel. Kibi is built for efficiency on long highway drives, not sightseeing exploration.

How is Kibi different from GasBuddy?

GasBuddy helps you find the cheapest gas prices near you. Kibi takes a holistic approach — it finds highway exits that have gas, food, AND a bathroom together, scored by quality and timed to your vehicle's fuel range. Kibi isn't just about gas; it's about finding the best overall pitstop so you only need to make one stop instead of three.

What is the best app for planning road trip stops?

Kibi is purpose-built for planning road trip pitstops. Unlike general navigation apps (Google Maps, Waze, Apple Maps) or attraction finders (Roadtrippers), Kibi focuses on finding the best single highway exit for gas, food, and a bathroom — calculated around your vehicle's actual fuel range. It scores 79,000+ US highway exits and deep-links into your preferred navigation app.
