Privacy Policy
Kibi ("we," "us") is a road-trip co-pilot app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and who we share it with.
Information We Collect
- Account info: your email address, and your name if you choose Sign in with Apple.
- Vehicle info: the make, model, year, and efficiency details of the vehicle you add.
- Trip and route data: origins, destinations, planned stops, mileage, estimated CO₂, departure times, saved trips, and favorites.
- Precise location: used to plan pitstops along your route, calculate trip distance and CO₂, and detect when you arrive at a stop or your destination.
- Usage and diagnostic data: in-app activity events, plus crash and performance diagnostics to keep the app stable.
- Purchase data: if you buy "Kibi Unlimited," we record that the purchase is active. Apple processes the payment; we never receive your card or payment details.
- Support and reports: any notes you submit (e.g., reporting a missing exit).
Location
We use precise location only to provide the app's features above. Background location is used only while a trip is active — so we can detect arrival at your pitstops and destination and track distance/CO₂ — and at no other time. You can change or revoke location access anytime in iOS Settings.
How We Share Data
We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or cross-app tracking. We share only what's needed to run the app, with these providers:
- Supabase — stores your account, vehicle, and trip data.
- Google Places — finds pitstops near your route (sent through our secure server).
- Apple — Maps/routing, geocoding, and App Store in-app purchases.
- Firebase Crashlytics (Google) — crash and performance diagnostics.
- National Weather Service (weather.gov) — route weather alerts (uses route location).
- U.S. Energy Information Administration — fuel prices by state.
In-App Purchases
Kibi is free to use. An in-app purchase, "Kibi Unlimited," is a one-time $9.99 purchase that removes the monthly trip-planning limit. Purchases are handled by Apple under Apple's terms.
Data Retention & Deletion
We keep your data until you delete your account. You can delete your account and all associated data anytime in the app (Profile → Delete Account), or by emailing support@drivekibi.com.
Children
Kibi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport and access controls.
Changes
We may update this policy; we'll revise the date above when we do.
